Testing out Kodak T-MAX

I’ve never been a fan of stark contrast, especially when it comes to black and white photography. But recently I received a roll of Kodak T-MAX 400 so, per usual when you didn’t pay for an expensive roll of film, I threw caution to the wind. I loaded my Pentax SP500 on a rainy Saturday as I visited the National Museum in Seoul and attended an orchestra performance at the Arts Centre (my first theatre experience in more than a year). Then I shot some frames on a morning bike ride next to the river in Daejeon.

Surprisingly, I actually like the starkness of the dark blacks against the bright whites. The photo of the dandelion, where you can see the grooves left by petals which have already blown away, is one of my favourites. I will need to do a bit more practicing especially in lower light conditions (as the faces of the orchestra members show), however, colour me impressed with T-MAX!
